In a special edition of our #exceltogether Speaker Series for Black History Month, current Executive Director of the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), Tamika Tremaglio, joined us for an incredibly candid conversation on leadership, confidence and ‘reimagining the possible.’

Tamika has accumulated years of experience in leadership roles throughout her career. She was able to pivot into many roles and take on new challenges through her diverse educational background. Before the NBPA, Tamika was the Managing Principal for Deloitte’s Greater Washington practice where she managed thousands of professionals and was an integral leader within the sports industry branch. Tamika has worked closely with several players’ associations and was a trusted advisor for various important Fortune 1000 clients. Through all of her experiences, Tamika came to the realization that no matter what position she was in, she wanted to surround herself with passionate people and personally connect with her co-workers to embrace an engaging and positive work culture. Her jubilant personality and knack for lending a helping hand to others has molded her into the leader she is today – in and out of the boardroom.

During the conversation, Tamika stressed the importance of sprinting while others are walking when it comes to pursuing your dreams. She added that you need to feel inspired and not be afraid to take on the challenge of chasing what you are truly passionate about. Tamika rounded out the discussion by explaining that “being human” and compassionate to people is crucial to bringing out the best in everyone around us.

The #exceltogether Speaker Series is a quarterly event featuring influential people who are making an impact in shifting the culture around Diversity, Equity and Inclusion across sports and entertainment.
